David C Cook has been awarded a Gold Milestone Sales Award by the Evangelical Christian Publisher’s Association for selling 500,000 copies of What Does It Mean to Be Chosen? by Amanda Jenkins, Dallas Jenkins, and Douglas S. Huffman. The book, an interactive Bible study, is based on Season 1 of the popular television series, The Chosen.
The ECPA's Milestone Sales Award program recognizes "outstanding sales achievement in the publication of quality
Christian literature."
In addition to What Does It Mean to Be Chosen?, David C Cook has published four other interactive Bible studies based on The Chosen, including: Blessed Are the Chosen (Season 2); The Way of the Chosen (Season 3), God’s Goodness for the Chosen (Season 4), and Get Used to Different, a student guide to The Chosen.
The publisher this year also published an original graphic novel written by Amanda Jenkins, and two children's books, The Chosen Presents: Jesus Loves the Little Children and The Chosen Presents: The Shepherd.
“This award not only symbolizes the milestone of half a million books sold, but also the fact that this book connects millions of readers to the person of Jesus Christ so brilliantly,” said Chadd Miller, divisional president of David C Cook’s publishing arm, in a statement.
“We are blessed to partner with Amanda, Dallas, and Doug on this interactive Bible study series, added Michael Covington, VP of Publishing & Acquisitions. "We feel strongly that the purpose behind The Chosen show—to point people to the authentic Jesus of the Bible—is being fulfilled every time someone opens this book.”
David C Cook will be honored for this award at the ECPA Awards Celebration, set for April 2025, in Nashville.
