Broadleaf Takes a Theological Look at Worldly Power

Bridget Matzie of Aevitas Creative Management sold North American rights to Valerie Weaver-Zercher at Broadleaf Books for Matthew D. Taylor’s Christian Antichrists: Following Jesus Away from Imperial Faith. Taylor (The Violent Take It by Force) is a senior scholar at the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies in Baltimore. According to the publisher, his book challenges contemporary theologies that leverage worldly power and makes a case for recovering the "subversive" way of Jesus. Publication is planned for fall 2026.

Devotional for Women to Dayspring

Brittany Bruce, an educator, podcaster, and speaker, has signed with Dayspring to write a Christian devotional tentatively titled You’re Not Crazy, You’re Called, a 40-day journey for women who seeking to confidently navigate their calling with actionable steps included. World rights were acquired by senior managing editor Gini Wietecha from Jenaye Merida, senior literary agent with WTA Media. A spring 2026 release is planned.

Nelson Signs Study on Move Away from Postmodernism

Paul Pastor, executive editor at Nelson Books, took world rights to the tentatively titled Return to Meaning by Paul Anleitner. The author, a public theologian and host of the Deep Talks podcast, outlines a Christian perspective on the cultural movement away from postmodernism and toward meaning and sincerity, and how this affects readers' lives and faith. Keely Boeving at WordServe Literary negotiated the deal, and publication is scheduled for f.all 2026.

Brazos Title Urges Return to Loving Books

Katelyn Beaty, editorial director at Brazos Press, has taken world rights to the unagented Nadya Williams’s Christian Bibliophilia. Williams (Christians Reading Classics, 2025), a classicist and books editor for the website Mere Orthodoxy, urges Christians to return to the love of books as a way to re-root in God’s world and in their relationships instead of turning to technology and AI. Release is planned for spring 2027.

Spiritual Formation Teacher to Multnomah

Spiritual formation teacher Jen Pollock Michel brings WaterBrook her expertise on developing a personal rule of life with A Rule for the Rest of Us: An Ancient Practice for Clarity and Courage, Commitment, and the Art of Care. Pollock offers a five-step process to create sustainable spiritual habits and provides a comprehensive framework for developing an individual rule of life that aligns with each readers' unique circumstances and desires. World rights were acquired by Drew Dixon, executive editor at Multnomah, from Lisa Jackson at Alive Literary Agency. The book is scheduled for publication in Spring 2026.

IVP Title to Help Young Adults

Kelli Trujillo, IVP trade editor, has taken world rights for Lina Abujamra’s tentatively titled Honestly: How to Live an Authentic Life for Jesus, to release in summer 2026. The author is a pediatric emergency room doctor who also oversees Living with Power, a ministry providing medical and humanitarian aid to Lebanese and Ukrainian people. She provides a practical biblical resource to help young adults deepen their walk with God and live authentically for Jesus for the long haul. She was represented by Don Pape of Pape Commons.

Book Viewing Disability as Sacred to Brazos

Brazos Press editorial director Katelyn Beaty has taken world rights to the unagented Amy Kenny’s tentatively titled Disability is Divine, which maps the sacredness of disability in Scripture and creation through the lament, joy and creativity of a life on wheels, according to the publisher. Kenny is the inaugural associate director of the Disability Cultural Initiative at Georgetown University. The book will release in fall 2026.

Broadleaf Signs New Study of Prayer

Lisa Kloskin at Broadleaf Books has bought world rights via Trinity McFadden at the Bindery to I Have No Answers: Post-Evangelical Reflections on Prayer from Liz Cooledge Jenkins (Nice Churchy Patriarchy). Weaving together fresh interpretations of biblical stories, wisdom from contemporary female and BIPOC thought leaders, and the author’s own story, Jenkins helps readers redefine prayer for their lives after leaving evangelicalism, per the publisher. The book is planned for publication in spring 2027.

Paraclete’s Miao Signs Pair of Books

Lillian Miao, director at Paraclete Press, acquired world rights to Journaling with the Holy Spirit: Scriptures, Devotions, Prayers, and Praise to Connect with the Spirit of God, written by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Clare Therese Gray. This 52-week interactive devotional invites the reader to relate to the Spirit of God through reflections on Scripture, journaling prompts, coloring pages, prayers, and praise, according to the publisher. The author represented herself, as did the illustrator, and publication is set for October 14.

Miao also acquired world rights to Look and Learn: Vocations, written and illustrated by Casey Pawelek, who represented herself in the deal. This children’s hardcover book for ages 4–8 offers an introduction to the many ways that a person can serve God—as a priest, nun, monk, deacon, or a single or married adult—all of which are described in this brightly illustrated book for Catholic children. Publication is set for March 2026.
