FSG president Jonathan Galassi will moderate a CEOs' panel discussion with Bob Miller, David Shanks, Esther Newberg and other publishing executives at BEA, convention organizers announced Friday. The panel will be jointly sponsored by the ABA and will serve as the Opening Plenary session, taking place from 8:30 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 25. The discussion subject-"Value of a Book"-was partly inspired by an op-ed piece Galassi wrote in the Times in January, "There's More to Publishing Than Meets the Screen."

Speaking on the panel will be Miller, who will have just taken over as group publisher at Workman; ICM executive v-p Newberg; Penguin CEO Shanks; Ingram CEO Skip Prichard; ABA CEO Oren Teicher; and incoming Authors Guild president Scott Turow.

The event is open to all BEA attendees with badges.
