BISG is hosting its annual Making Information Pay conference on May 5. The event will take place at the McGraw Hill Auditorium in New York.

Scott Lubeck, executive director of BISG will offer opening remarks, followed by the keynote address, “Publishers as 21st Century Content Providers,” by Kenneth Michaels, evp and COO of Hachette Book Group. Michaels will address what is required to be successful publishers today, and to connect consumers with content as widely, creatively, and effectively as possible.

Sessions include “Toward Agility & Efficiency: Best Practices for ‘Future-Proofing’ New Content” by Bill Kasdorf, v-p, Apex Content Solutions; “Flexible & Multi-Channel Content: Real-World Examples from O’Reilly Media” by Andrew Savikas, CEO of Safari Books Online and v-p, digital initiatives at O’Reilly Media. There will also be a discussion titled “Building a Smarter Wrapper: Utilizing the Data Locked Inside Digital Content to Increase ‘E-’ and ‘P-’ Book Discoverability” by Brett Sandusky, director of product innovation, Kaplan Publishing, and one on “Content in the Wild: What Happens When Rights Management Goes Wrong” from David Marlin, president and co-founder, MetaComet Systems.

Registration is $200 for BISG members and $275 for non-members.
