PubMatch, the global rights trading platform owned by Combined Book Exhibit Publishers Weekly parent company PWxyz, has reached an agreement with the Beijing International Book Fair to promote Chinese content worldwide.
“PubMatch will make Chinese content more accessible to the world for rights purposes,” said Jon Malinowski, president of CBE. He also noted that the Chinese books featured in PubMatch “have not yet been seen outside of China.”
"We are very excited to be working with PubMatch and provide our exhibitors with access to the online rights platform,” said Ms. Lin Liying, v-p of China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC), which launched BIBF in 1986. “As a trade book fair, our goal is to service the publishing industry.”
By partnering with PubMatch, Liying said the show's attendees can be "exhibiting with more efficiency and getting better results." She then added: "Through the PubMatch platform, we can also introduce more high-quality Chinese content to the international market.”
Working with BIBF, PubMatch will create an online rights platform to be used at BIBF. The platform will also be available to all Chinese publishers and fair attendees. The PubMatch platform in China is to be modeled on PubMatch’s current platform, which features a rights database with various tools and search capabilities.
