At the Frankfurt Book Fair, it has become an annual tradition that representatives of the world's leading publishing trade journals are given the opportunity to publicly interview the CEO of a major international publishing house whose company is in the news. But this year, there is a twist, as that executive will come not from books, but from the world of video streaming.
Kelly Luegenbiehl, v-p of international originals at Netflix, oversees the development and production of Netflix’s non-U.S.-based series, which launch simultaneously around the world in 190 countries. Prior to Netflix, Luegenbiehl worked at ABC Entertainment Group as b-p of comedy and international. In 2010, Luegenbiehl was selected as one of the Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 35 Executives Under 35,” and in 2011, Variety profiled her in their inaugural list of “Hollywood’s New Leaders.”
The interview, dubbed the "Global 50 CEO Talk," will take place on October 16, from 2-3 p.m. CST. It will be moderated by Austrian publishing consultant Rüdiger Wischenbart, and representatives from Publishers Weekly, Livres Hebdo (France), Bookdao (China), buchreport (Germany), and PublishNews (Brazil) will ask questions.
