Transforming user experience—specifically, in the four areas of content, outcomes, reach, and engagement—is the focus at Impelsys. “We offer a seamless, intuitive, and adaptive content delivery via our flagship iPC Scholar platform and enable better learning and end-user outcomes through instructional design,” says Uday Majithia, v-p of the products and platforms division. “Next, we further the reach of our client’s content and increase user engagement by leveraging the power of digital transformation and technology.”
Impelsys, says Majithia, provides a one-stop solution with easier and faster upload for all content types, including e-book, video, audio, journal, and courses. “Our intuitive administration portal manages content publishing and multichannel delivery while its simplified menu and navigation enables easier control and access to the back-end processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiencies,” Majithia says. “Clients can apply digital rights management controls in a much deeper level and define and manage courses for adaptive learning, which can be used by any third-party LMS.”
Instructional design is a core Impelsys service, says George Oommen, v-p of learning and content services. “We apply instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM to help learners learn better and faster and to create the right content with expected learner outcomes,” Oommen says. “Our backward design process further helps to drive better design and outcomes of the learning experiences. We also use the modular adaptive approach extensively to customize and personalize the learning journey for each learner.”
The team recently digitized a 40-hour classroom-training program for an American nonprofit healthcare organization. Given the mixed target audience of new and experienced practitioners, the client wanted to ensure that learners take only the modules and topics that are new to them. “So we proposed a modular adaptive approach based on specific learning outcomes,” Oommen says. “This allowed us to break the content into bite-sized chunks, test the learner on their knowledge level, and offer what is relevant.”
The iPC Scholar platform, now in version 3.0, continues to evolve with more AI and machine learning capabilities. “The goal is about increasing reach, heightening user engagement, and improving content discoverability,” Majithia says. “This flexible platform, for instance, can be integrated with other third-party tools without compromising on its security while its analytics drives informed business decisions for our clients. Then there are tools such as Scholar IQ Generator, Scholar Sum It Up, and Scholar Product Tags to make the user experience richer, faster, and much better.” Some of these tools, he says, will be made available for non–iPC Scholar clients on a pay-per-use basis under Impelsys’s Lab-as-a-Service offerings.
