Granta has published its second list celebrating the best 25 young Spanish-language novelists under the age of 35, all of whom are showcased in a new edition of the literary magazine. (The first edition of the list was published in 2010.) The issue will be published in the U.S. on May 6. The list of authors is above.
The judges who chose the authors were Chloe Aridjis, Horacio Castellanos Moya, Rodrigo Fresán, Aurelio Major, Gaby Wood, and Valerie Miles, editor of Granta en Español. The names were released at the Cervantes Institute in Madrid, Spain, today. This year's group contains three writers from Cuba, the first time writers from the country have appeared on the list.
