The Federation of European Publishers (FEP), which has announced its opposition to Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, has invited the Ukraine Publishers and Booksellers Association to join its ranks.
FEP president Peter Kraus vom Cleff has written to the president of the Ukrainian Publishers and Booksellers Association, Oleksandr Afonin, to extend the invitation. "This attack is a war on Ukraine and it is a war on Europe. Although it may seem derisory when one sees the bombs killing brave Ukrainians. European publishers want to support their fellow colleagues in inviting them to be Special Guest of our joint Federation," he said.
FEP will work the UPBA to come up with a plan to offer practical help, and will invite the UPBA to coming meetings, the organization said.
