Sharjah Partners with International Thriller Writers
International Thriller Writers (ITW), founded in 2004 at Bouchercon, the World Mystery and Suspense Conference, is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to support thriller authors worldwide (a thriller is considered to be “any form of page-turning fiction”). ITW now has over 5,500 members in 53 countries who together have more than 3.2 billion books in print.

Sharjah Book Authority’s inaugural International Booksellers Conference, with over 400 visitors from 57 countries around the world, was held on 16 and 17 May this year in the gleaming atrium of Sharjah Publishing City. Delegates included booksellers from Morocco, India, Singapore, Slovakia, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Italy, Nigeria, Poland, Ghana and the UAE, and were welcomed by Ahmed Al Amari.

Sharjah Book Fair Posts Record Numbers
The 40th Sharjah International Book Fair, which took place November 3-13 in the United Arab Emirates, attracted 1,692,463 visitors representing 109 nationalities. The fair, open to the public, attracted some 1,632 publishers from 83 countries.
