Reed Exhibitions group v-p Greg Topalian has been promoted to senior v-p and BookExpo America director Lance Fensterman will join the staff of New York Comic-Con as show manager. In a phone interview with Topalian he emphasized that he will continue to run New York Comic-Con and oversee the launch of a new show, the New York Anime Fest, in December; while Fensterman will add responsibilties for NYCC to his duties as director of BookExpo America.
Topalian said Fensterman is joining the NYCC staff because “the show just keeps getting bigger and bigger and we need more help. Plus there a lot of synergies between New York Comic-Con and BookExpo.”
In addition to founding and directing the New York Comic-Con, Topalian oversees Reed Exhibitions Launch Pad division; New Events and its restaurant trade shows. His promotion will add Reed Exhibiton’s Canada division and Medical and Spa Events to his duties.
