Will Eisner Exhibit
An exhibit of work by Will Eisner will be shown on May 28 at the Storyopolis Gallery, 12348 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, Ca. The exhibit is being presented by the Association of Booksellers for Children and the Denis Kitchen Art Agency, and has part of Book Expo. The event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m.. Bleach’s Tito Kube To Visit SDCC
Viz Media announced plans to bring Tito Kube, creator of the hit manga series Bleach, to the San Diego Comic-con in July. Kube will be greeting fans at the Viz booth in addition to appearing on the Shonen Jump panel about future projects. Kube will also appear on Friday evening at 8 p.m.to make opening remarks at the theatrical screening of the first Bleach feature film, Bleach: The Movie: Memories of Nobody, scheduled to take place in a theatre in downtown San Diego.

NBM Retailer Contest
Papercutz is holding a contest for retailers to create the best store displays promoting the Bionicle graphic novels. The winner will receive two $250 gift certificates for orders on the Papercutz backlist. Retailers can enter the contest with either a window display or a point-of-purchase display. Photos or videos of the display should be sent to Papercutz at 40 Exchange Place Suite 1308 New York, NY 10005; the deadline is July 1. Bionicle editor Jim Salicrup, publisher Terry Nantier, and Bionicle experts from LEGO will judge the contest. The first volume of the Bionicle comic will be released in May 2008. Gary Panter, Matt Groening Sign
Gary Panter will be speaking with Simpson’s creator Matt Groening on Tuesday May 27at Skylight Books in Los Angeles. The event will start at 7:30 PM. Skylight Books is located at 1818 N. Vermont Avenue. More information can be found at the Skylight Books website.

Lynda Barry at the Strand
Lynda Barry will be appearing at the Strand bookstore in New York City on June 4. She will be signing her new book What It is, published by Drawn and Quarterly. The event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. More information can be found at the Strand website.

Jason at Rocketship
Comics artist Jason will be appearing at Rocketship in Brooklyn, NY on June 6 for the MoCCA kick-off party. Also, the event will premiere Jason’s new book, Pocket Full of Rain, and there will be an exhibit of original artwork. The event starts at 8 p.m. and admission is free. CBLDF's Brownstein Turns 30
To celebrate the 30th birthday of Charles Brownstein, executive director of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a party is being held on June 6 at the Grand Saloon in New York City. PWCW Needs Interns!
Several opportunities are available for internships at PWCW. Requirements include basic writing and editing skillls and working knowledge of the comics industry. There is no pay but there are opportunities to write articles for pay. We need individuals who love and understand comics; who are interested in journalism and writing about comics and want to learn more about the business of publishing. Regular duties include being in the office at least 2 days each week, handling both incoming and outgoing mail, tracking stories and reviews, contacting publishers for galleys and compiling the weekly Comics Briefs and On Sale Calendar. Other duties include writing a variety of stories depending your writing skills and working the PW booth at local comics conventions. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about trade journalism and polish your writing skills.
