It’s clear that faith-based publishers and coloring books are a match made in heaven. The contemplative properties of coloring, which mainstream houses have been capitalizing on with great success, are especially relevant for spiritual seekers.
Tyndale House, for example, recently launched a new brand, Living Expressions, dedicated to coloring books, combining creativity and relaxation with easy-to-understand Scripture, devotions, and prayers. Forthcoming products include reflections on biblical text and personal journaling prompts.
Thomas Nelson has six titles lined up, including a coloring book version of Jesus Calling, Sarah Young’s bestselling devotional, and Oceans Coloring Book: Where Feet May Fail, based on a song by the gospel group Hillsong United. The publisher is also among those expanding their product lines to offer coloring book Bibles with illustrated verses.
