Welcome to our big spring preview. Our editors have chosen 850 books publishing between February and July that you’re going to want to put on your radar. Okay, probably not all of them, but a good chunk, at least. It’s not all titles by big-name authors, either—though there are certainly a lot of those. We’ve also highlighted what we think are auspicious debuts, works that will finally break out their authors, and, of course, plenty of gems from small and independent publishers.
We do announcements features twice a year, and longtime readers of the magazine will be familiar with the format: we make picks in 15 categories, each of which has a top-10 list and a longlist of other worthy titles. That’s what you’ve got in your hands right now. We also publish a massive database of the many thousands of titles that are submitted for consideration for this feature. You can peruse that at publishersweekly.com/announcements.
Also, we’d be remiss not to remind you to keep an eye out for our Spring Children’s Announcements feature, coming in the February 17 issue. In the meantime, let’s turn the page and start thinking of spring.
