Christmas lights have been strung, holiday parties are in full swing, and winter coats have made their annual migration from the back of the closet to the front—which means it’s time for one of our favorite December traditions here at PW: the spring preview!

Back in September, we invited publishers to submit information on books publishing between Feb. 1 and July 31, 2025. Our savvy and stalwart editors then combed through the thousands of submissions to make their selections for spring and summer’s most noteworthy titles in 13 categories. As always, each category has a top 10 list and a longlist of books whose jib we like the cut of. (There’s also a searchable database of all the submitted titles at publishersweekly.com/previews.)

Be sure to check back for our religion and spirituality preview on January 13, our comics and graphic novels preview on January 27, and our children’s preview on February 3. In the meantime, uncap those highlighters, sharpen those pencils, and fire up those Notes apps—you’ll want to remember these books when the new year rolls around.

Happy reading!
