Fall 2012 Announcements

Issue: June 25 2012 (Adult), July 16, 2012 (Children’s)
Deadline: May 14, 2012
Needed: Information on adult trade titles (new titles only; no reprints!) being published in all formats between Aug. 1, 2012, and Jan. 31, 2013, and children’s trade titles (new titles only; no reprints) being published between July 1, 2012 and Jan. 31, 2013. Publishers are invited to enter their data online at publishersweekly.com/fall2012submissions.

By registering through the above-mentioned link, publishers will find an easy-to-use data-entrance tool powered by Edelweiss. Publishers will be able to enter title information (title, subtitle, imprint, series, author or other category of contributor, price, pub date, print run, and format, along with description of the book, author bio, and jacket or interior art). They will also have the opportunity to write a 50-word maximum “PW Pitch” for each title. Please be sure that each entry has a BISAC subject category and a publication date—these are mandatory for accepting your listing. (Children’s titles must be categorized as juvenile fiction or nonfiction for consideration.) First printing information is helpful; publishers can also avail themselves of rights sold and available tabs. Again, deadline is May 14. We urge you to observe this deadline in order to be listed online and to have a chance to be in the print issues. There will be no limit to the number of titles that can be entered, as long as they meet the criteria as to dates of publication and suitability as a trade book. Please also observe the pub-month parameters; actual publication date (month/day) is preferred but not required; note that there is a one-month difference for Adult vs. Children’s—the adult window begins August 1, children’s begins July 1), and all titles outside those respective parameters will be rejected for online listing and print issue consideration. Also, again, no reprints, please—new books only. PW reserves the right to edit entries for consistency and concision. The online entries will be accessible via the PW Web site on approximately June 25 for Adult and July 16 for Children’s, free and browsable for all PW subscribers. This information will form the basis of our print announcement issues in which, for the adult issue, we will provide a synthesis of the upcoming season’s highlights across categories and genres, and for the children’s, a comprehensive presentation of the season’s new titles.
