Comixology Returns to SXSW Interactive 2015
Comixology, the digital comics marketplace, marks its third year at SXSW Interactive with a discounted bundle of 30 original e-comics from Comixology Submit, its self-publishing platform, until the end of the day March 16.
The CS 2015 bundle offers $75 worth of original comics for $3. The Comixology Submit platform allows any cartoonist to upload their digital comic and, if approved, Comixology will convert the title into its Guided View format and offer it for sale via its global marketplace. Comixology and the creator will split net revenues from the sale of the comics, 50/50.
In 2013 Comixology Submit was launched at SXSW Interactive, the annual tech festival in Austin, Tx. Last year Comixology was acquired by Amazon.com.
SXSW Interactive’s mix of DIY culture and tech development has proven very receptive to comics culture and comics new ventures and Comixology has been active at the festival. At this year’s show Comixology cofounders John D. Roberts and David Steinberger will be on the Geek Stage, Sunday March 15 at 4:15pm as part of the “Comixology Recommends Comics for You," panel, offering tips on new comics works of all kinds available through Comixology.
Comixology will also sponsor the Geek Stage at the SXSW Gaming Expo at the Palmer Center, and the vendor also offers the Comixologist, a podcast discussing the new works published through Comixology Submit.
