Dover Re-Releases Cold War Classic
Dover Publications has announced the release of the first U.S. paperback edition of Ted Allbeury’s classic Cold War novel, The Twentieth Day of January, on sale February 15. The book recently shot to the top of the U.K. e-book spy fiction bestseller list, earning the #1 spot in January. The book is set in 1980 as, seemingly out of nowhere, wealthy businessman Logan Powell has become President-elect and is weeks away from assuming the most powerful position in the world. Across the Atlantic, veteran British intelligence agent James MacKay uncovers evidence that suggests something might be wrong with the election. With the help of a reluctant CIA, MacKay sets out on a dangerous and daring mission to discover if the unthinkable has occurred: is President-elect Powell actually a puppet of the Soviet Union?
