Hoopla Brings ‘Love Is Love’ LGBTQ Comics Anthology to Libraries
Hoopla Digital, a mobile app and digital content loaning service for public libraries, will be the first vendor to offer digital access to Love is Love, IDW’s LGBTQ anthology honoring the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting.
Beginning immediately library patrons in communities served by Hoopla can use the service’s digital app to access the anthology. Published by IDW Publishing, Love is Love is a 144 page anthology featuring more than 100 short comics stories honoring the Orlando victims and the LGBTQ community. Creators include some of the most acclaimed comics creators in the industry (among them Gail Simone, Jim Lee and G. Willow Wilson) as well as creative artists from outside the comics community (Morgan Spurlock, Patton Oswalt and others).
Hoopla functions like an e-book subscription service for library patrons, although it is funded by the public library systems it services, not by an individual subscription fee. Any patron with a public library card can use it for free to access Hoopla digital content to consume on their laptop or mobile device. Hoopla provides digital content to more than 1300 public libraries.
