BookExpo Announces 2017 Hot Graphic Novel Panelists
BookExpo, the annual book industry trade show, has announced the books and authors that will be showcased on the Hot Graphic Novels of Fall 2017 panel at this year’s show.
This year’s Hot Graphic Novels panel will feature Nidhi Chanani, author of Pashmina (First Second Books), Iasmin Omar Ata, author of Mi(s)hadra (Gallery 13), Liniers, author of Good Night Planet (Toon Books), Katie O'Neill, author of The Tea Dragon Society (Oni Press), and Pratap Chaterjee and Khalil Bendib, coauthors of Verax (Metropolitan).
The five acclaimed authors will discuss their new works as well as the explosion of interest in the graphic novel medium and highlight the popularity of the category for booksellers.
The panel will be moderated by Calvin Reid of Publishers Weekly.
The Hot Graphic Novels of Fall 2017 panel will be held on June 1 at 11 am on the Uptown Stage at BE, which will be held at the Javits Convention Center, May 31-June 2.
The Hot Graphic Novels panel isn’t the only program taking a look at upcoming graphic novels and other graphic titles will be featured on other BookExpo “Buzz” panels, alongside prose authors.
Among the comics authors appearing elsewhere at BookExpo are Cartoonist Tillie Walden and her graphic novel Spinning will be featured on the Young Adult Editors Buzz selections at 10 am in Room 1E on June 1; and Molly Ostertag’s graphic novel The Witch Boy (Graphix), will be a part of the Middle Grade Editors Buzz Panel on June 2 at 11 am in Room 1E.
