New Book Explores Bob Dylan’s ‘Complicated, Confusing’ Spirituality
BP Books is publishing Bob Dylan: A Spiritual Life, a look at the iconic musician’s approach to Judaism, Christianity, and other spiritual influences, on June 20. The book compiles a variety of interviews conducted by author Scott Marshall with people who know Dylan, such as President Jimmy Carter, former publicist Paul Wasserman, producer Jerry Wexler, and Dylan’s ex-wife, Carolyn Dennis.
“He’s still performing and he’s still in the news,” Marshall said of the 76-year-old artist and 2016’s Nobel Prize laureate. “I believe anyone who is interested in Bob Dylan or his work is impoverished if they don’t have an understanding of his spiritual journey.”
BP is a general nonfiction imprint of Bartlett Publishing that focuses on books that intersect pop culture and spirituality. Bob Dylan: A Spiritual Life, which features a foreword from director Scott Derrickson, will be distributed by WND Books, a general trade imprint established by Thomas Nelson.
