Wonderbly and Roald Dahl Estate Release ‘My Golden Ticket’
Working in partnership with the Roald Dahl Literary Estate, Wonderbly, a company that creates personalized children’s picture books, has released My Golden Ticket, a new customized version of Dahl’s classic children’s book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
First announced earlier this summer, My Golden Ticket is the product of Wonderbly’s personalization technology, which can deliver a unique version of Dahl’s classic to every child. The new book was first released on September 7. Wonderbly’s personalized books are sold exclusively via its website.
In the new personalized Wonderbly version of Willy Wonka, each reader becomes a Golden Ticket winner and gets to visit the candy rooms in the original story. Many of the details in Dahl’s original story are expanded on in My Golden Ticket, while some of the candy factory rooms, which were simply mentioned in Dahl’s notes, have never been visualized before.
All of the artwork was researched and created by the illustrator Adam Hancher. Many of the illustrations in My Golden Ticket are based on chocolate and candy illustrations taken from ads in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
And Wonderbly’s personalization technology transforms the book’s rooms, candy bars, Wonka family tree and more, into unique experiences for every child that receives a copy of My Golden Ticket.
Wonderbly CEO Asi Sharabi said, “this new and exciting book really embodies our mission to make children believe that they can be and do anything they can imagine; that any story they imagine could be their story.”
