S&S Aids Libraries, Booksellers After Hurricane Irma
In an effort to help libraries and bookstores replenish their shelves following Hurricane Irma, Simon & Schuster is sending books free of charge.
S&S is sending a donation of 250 “Best of” titles to public and school libraries through its education and library marketing department. Schools and libraries in Florida and other affected states can request assistance by emailing S&S at education.library@simonandschuster.com.
For bookstores that have been damaged by the hurricane, S&S will provide multiple copies of 20 new releases and bestsellers to help them attract customers as they restore their businesses. Retailers in need of more immediate support are encouraged to contact the Book Industry Charitable (BINC) Foundation at help@bincfoundation.org,
S&S is also working with national and local non-profits such as First Book to provide books for children and adults displaced by Hurricane Harvey, and will expand its donations to include those affected by Irma.
