Dynamite, BitTorrent Offer Bundle of DRM-Free Digital Comics
Following in the wake of Humble Bundle’s pay what you wish digital promotions, Dynamite Entertainment is teaming with BitTorrent, the now-legal file transferring platform, to offer the Dynamite Mega Bundle offering more than 200 DRM-free digital comics and graphic novels by such acclaimed authors as Amanda Hocking, Mark Waid, Gail Simone and others. Until April 17, the Mega Bundle offers 30 digital comics for free download, but if consumers pay at least $6, they can get all 200 digital comics and graphic novels included in the bundle.
The offer runs from April 13 until April 17 at 5 pm EST and is available at bundles.bittorrent.com. The Dynamitte Mega Bundle offers both complete graphic novels and single issue comics. Digital comics in the bundle include Amanda Hocking’s The Hollows: A Hollowland Graphic Novel, Grant Morrison and Mark Millar’s Vampirella Masters Series Vol. 1, and George R. R. Martin’s Wild Cards. Single issue comics include Bob’s Burgers #1-#3, Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein: Prodigal Son #1-#5 and Mark Waid’s Green Hornet #1-#6.
Dynamite has also offered pay what you wish DRM-free digital bundles of its comics in partnership with Humble Bundle. CEO Nick Barrucci called the bundle an effort to “reach new readers in areas where comic book may not be currently available.” Barrucci said, “BitTorrent is a far-reaching community, with users in every corner of the globe.
