Titan Debuts Statix Press, New International Comics Imprint
Titan Comics will launch Statix Press, a new imprint that will publish the best comics and graphic novels in English Translation from Europe and around the world.
The list will offer a variety of artists and genres from classic works in a variety of genres including horror, mysteries, post-apocalyptic science fiction and more.
The first titles from Statix Press will be released this fall, including The Beautiful Death by Mathieu Bablet, a post-apocalyptic, coming-of-age series, coming in September; and in November look for Doctor Radar by Noël Simsolo with art by Bézían, a crime series set in 1920s Paris. In December Statix Press will release Under: Scourge of the Sewer! By Christophe Bec and Stefano Raffaele, a horror series set in the city of Megalopolis that reveals the monstrous filth crawling out its sewers.
Statix Press will release works in periodical series which will also be collected into trade paperback editions. The press will also showcase Titan’s vast back catalogue of translated comics, including works by such acclaimed European artists as Enki Bilal (The Nikopol Trilogy), Philippe Druillet (Lone Sloane), and Alejandro Jodorowsky (Showman Killer).
Titan Comics’ brand manager Chris Thompson said “With our Statix Press line, we hope to continue Titan's rich history of publishing essential classics like Bilal, Jodorowsky and Druillet, while introducing English-speaking audiences to fresh new creators and titles from around the world.”
