MoCCA Arts Fest 2018 Slated for April 7-8
The 2018 MoCCA Arts Festival, an annual festival honoring indie and self-published comics and graphic novels organized by the Society of Illustrators, will take place April 7-8 at the Metroplitan West event space and the nearby Ink48 Hotel.
This year’s MoCCA Arts Festival will honor acclaimed cartoonist and cocreator of the Love & Rockets series, Jaime Hernandez, who is a featured guest, along with a distinguished group of international comics artists that will include Max de Radiguès, Anna Haifish, Yvan Alagbé, Dominique Goblet
Other artists that will participate in the programming for this year’s MoCCA Arts Fest include Roz Chast, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell, Mike Mignola, Nicole Georges, Ariel Schrag and others.
MoCCA 2018 programming includes a public conversation between RAW magazine coeditor and New Yorker art director Françoise Mouly and Marc Siegal, noted cartoonist and founder of First Second, the graphic novel imprint of Macmillan publishing. And writer Andrew Aydin and Artist Nate Powell, the creative team that worked with Rep. John Lewis to create his groundbreaking graphic memoir, the March Trilogy, will discuss the making of the bestselling work.
The MoCCA exhibition floor is located in the Metropolitan West event space at 639 W. 46th Street; and programming will take place at the Ink48 Hotel at 653 11th Avenue at 48th Street, just around the corner. Admission to the show is $7; children under the age of 10 are admitted for free.
