Viz Media To Publish Inio Asano’s New Manga
Manga publisher Viz Media announced plans to publish celebrated manga artist Inio Asano’s new work of science fiction, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, in English this month.
Asano's new work is set in Tokyo in the aftermath of an alien invasion. A giant alien ship has been suspended over the city for several years,while the Japanese Defense Force looks for ways to defend the city from attack. But despite the unusual circumstances, life goes on, more or less, as usual. Two teenage girls, who are best friends, work to finish high school, study for their college entry exams and live a sort of normal life while tracking the movements of the aliens on social media, and dealing with parents.
Asano is the author of such acclaimed manga as Solanin (2005) and Goodnight Punpun (2015) and other works.
