AAP, MPAA to Host BookExpo Panel on Bringing Books to Film
The Association of American Publishers (AAP) and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) will jointly host a panel discussion on the art and business of adapting a book to film during BookExpo 2018. Speaking from a variety of perspectives and experiences, the slate of panelists will discuss the objectives and sometimes unexpected results that are the hallmark of creative collaborations between industries. Panelists include: John Gibson, senior director of diversity and inclusion and deputy chief of staff at the MPAA; Catherine Hand, producer of Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time; Darin Keesler, v-p of marketing at Picador; and Angie Thomas, author of The Hate U Give. Susanna Hinds, v-p of communications at AAP, will moderate the panel.
This event is open to all BookExpo 2018 attendees and exhibitors, and will take place Friday, June 1, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
