Bantam to Publish Final Hawking Book
The Stephen Hawking Estate has announced that rights to a final book by the theoretical physicist were sold to his long-time publisher in North America, Bantam, and will be moving in the U.K. and Commonwealth to Nick Davies at John Murray.
The new book was in discussion at the time of Hawking’s death, and his Estate decided to go forward with the project, which is a selection of reflections from his personal archive to be called Brief Answers to the Big Questions. It will be released in October 2018.
British and Commonwealth rights were sold by Robert Kirby of United Agents to Nick Davies at John Murray, the publisher of Charles Darwin, who are celebrating their 250th anniversary this year. North American Rights were sold to Bantam by Doug Abrams of Idea Architects on behalf of United Agents, in a deal negotiated by Random House U.S. president and publisher Gina Centrello, with Jennifer Hershey editing.
