Juan Milà Valcárcel Named HarperOne Group Executive Editor

Juan Milà Valcárcel has joined the HarperOne Group as executive editor, reporting to president and publisher Judith Curr. In the newly-created role, Valcárcel will be responsible for building the fiction list for the HarperOne Group. He will be based in New York.

Valcárcel joins HarperCollins from, Ediciones Salamandra in Spain, where he spent 13 years. He has also held editorial positions at Grup62 and Planeta. He will also acquire Spanish-language titles, in coordination with other parts of HarperCollins—in particular the editorial team from HarperCollins Iberica—and will, Curr wrote in the memo announcing the hire, be hiring a senior editor and an editorial assistant in the coming months.
