Black Crown Unveils New ‘Punks Not Dead’ at New York Comic Con
Black Crown, Shelly Bond’s newly launched comics imprint at IDW, plans to unveil London Calling, a new installment of its Punks Not Dead series, at the IDW Panel at New York Comic con.
Written by David Barnett with art by Martin Simmonds, Punks Not Dead: London Calling, is a five issue mini-series that will debut in February 2019. The book is the newest episode of Black Crown’s Punks Not Dead, the story of Fergie, a bullied lonely teen raised by a single mom, who seems to have encountered the presence and fatherly guidance of the ghost of Sid Vicious.
Black Crown senior editor Shelly Bond will unveil the new installment at the IDW panel on Saturday at New York Comic Con. Bond was interviewed about the launch of Black Crown on PW's More to Come podcast.
The first volume, Punks Not Dead: Teenage Kicks, is available in comic stores now and will be released in bookstores on October 31.
Black Crown will also organize a first anniversary signing party at St. Mark’s Comics shop (11 St. Mark’s Place) in the East Village, Saturday night at 8:00pm. On to celebrate the imprint alongside Bond will be Black Crown creators Peter Milligan, Nick Robles, Megan Hutchison, Allison Sampson and more.
