Lion Forge’s Caracal Imprint to Publish ‘The Underfoot’ in 2019
In an announcement from New York Comic Con 2018, comics publisher Lion Forge unveiled plans to publish The Underfoot!, an epic anthropomorphic sci-fi series co-written by Ben Fisher and Emily S. Whitten with art by Michelle Nguyen.
The three-book series will debut in April 2019 under Lion Forge’s Caracal imprint for readers aged 8-12 years old.
The anthropomorphic graphic novel series tells the story of animal kingdoms struggling to survive in the aftermath of the disappearance of the Giants-That-Were. In The Underfoot Volume 1, the Hamster Aquatic Mercenaries journey to support their allies in the badger kingdom stuggling to survive a dangerous flood. The hamsters recruit the most ambitious hamster pups to join the mission, a journey that will become a grand adventure complete with heroic battles and dark mysteries as well as a world of deadly threats to their survival.
Cowriter Ben Fisher said, “Emily and I have been developing this story for years. It's the most comprehensive world-building and the most diverse cast of characters I've ever helped create.” Emily S. Whitten added that “We couldn't ask for a better artist than Michelle to bring our visions and our diverse characters to life.”
