BuzzFeed Launches a Book Club
BuzzFeed is launching a book club this November. The goal of the book club, BuzzFeed said, is to "offer a place and program for our community to experience reading and new and interesting books together, to lift up debut authors and also books and authors that may not be necessarily mainstream, and to give enthusiastic readers more access to the writers they love."
The first BuzzFeed Books Club book will be Family Trust by Kathy Wang (William Morrow), available on October 30. BuzzFeed Book Club's launch partner is Amazon; BuzzFeed News will get a percentage of the sale of the book when readers click through and purchase through affiliate links, which the outlet will share across its various platforms.
The club is free for members, who will receive a newsletter exclusive to members, access to a closed Facebook group that will act as a “virtual book club” where members can discuss the book of the month, and access to events with authors throughout the month. Members will be offered discounts provided by our partners, that will unlock discounted rates for the book of the month and various top selling titles.
