Jennifer Chan, Christine Makepiece Join Fantagraphics Books
Fantagraphics Books announced that Jennifer Chan has been named marketing and sales manager, and Christine Makepiece has joined the house as production manager.
Chan has been named to the newly created position of marketing and sales manager at the independent graphic novel publishing house. She will work closely with Fantagraphics Books president Gary Groth, associate publisher Eric Reynolds and with executive director of marketing, publicity, and promotion Jacq Cohen to expand library sales, and work with book retailers, the direct market and with W.W. Norton, Fantagraphics' book distributor.
Chan previously worked at Skyhorse Publishing and before that she was sales manager at Toon Books. She will be very familiar with W.W. Norton: Chan has also worked as a sales and marketing coordinator at W.W. Norton for eight years.
Fantagraphics also hired Christine Makepiece as production manager, succeeding Jason T. Miles, who is leaving the company to become a fulltime freelance artist. Makepiece will focus on working with printers and shipping brokers and maintaining the release schedule for all upcoming Fantagraphics titles.
