Scribd Names Voynow Head of Audio, Content
Scribd, the reading subscription service, has named former WNYC business development head Greg Voynow as its new head of audio and content partnerships. Voynow most recently oversaw business development at New York Public Radio (WNYC), where he led distribution and talent deals for WNYC Studios, a division of NYPR and the home of shows like Radiolab, Death, Sex & Money, and Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin. Prior to WNYC, Voynow spent nearly a decade at Audible, where he developed and implemented audio content acquisition and licensing strategies with a range of content creators. Voynow also previously managed iPublish.com, Time Warner Books’ electronic book publishing unit, and is a member of the board for the Center for Fiction.
Scribd has doubled the size of its content acquisition team in the past year as it plans for expansion. In addition to Voynow, Scribd recently hired Stacey Nathan as a content acquisition associate. Nathan previously worked at leading publishing companies HarperCollins, Hachette, and the Chicago Review Press.
