DC, Vertigo Titles Now Available Via Comixology Unlimited
DC Comics and DC Vertigo titles will now be available through Comixology Unlimited, Amazon’s digital comics subscription service, and via such related Amazon subscription services as Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading.
Since its launch in 2016, Comixology Unlimited has not included comics by the Big Two—DC and Marvel—but Marvel added a selection of its titles to the service last year and CU will now offer comics titles from DC.
DC senior v-p of sales & trade marketing John Cunningham called the move to Comixology Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading, “a natural fit. DC is constantly looking at ways of growing the audience for comis and graphic novels.”
The subscription service will now offer access to a selection of periodicals, graphic novels and collected editions of DC and DC/Vertigo titles. Newly available titles include such iconic DC superhero series as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, as well as its Vertigo imprint’s nonsuperhero series such as Transmetropolitan, Preacher, Fables, 100 Bullets and more.
Comixology Unlimited offers access to thousands of single issue comics periodicals, graphic novels and manga from a wide range of independent publishers for $5.99 per month. The service also offers a 30 day free trial to consumers to sample the service.
Comixology Unlimited offers access to comics from a wide variety of independent publishers such as IDW, Dark Horse, Archie, Fantagraphics, and Kodansha.
Comixology CEO and Co-Founder David Steinberger said, ”we are thrilled to now include an incredible selection of DC’s vast library, bringing an even bigger benefit to all our subscription members.”
