IBPA Names New Board of Directors Candidates
The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) has announced its slate of seven candidates for the association's fiscal year 2019 election cycle. The candidates were selected from a list of applicants gathered during IBPA’s open application period, held November 15, 2018 through December 31, 2018.
IBPA members can expect to see the seven candidates on the Board Ballot for membership vote at the April 6, 2019, Annual Membership Meeting scheduled during IBPA Publishing University in Chicago, Ill.. Each candidate is slated to serve a two-year term starting July 1, 2019.
The candidates are:
- Dayna Anderson, publisher, Amberjack Publishing
- Robert Broder, cofounder, Ripple Grove Press
- Seth Dellon (incumbent), director of strategic development, Publishers Weekly
- Maggie Langrick, CEO and publisher, LifeTree Media Ltd
- Richard Lena (incumbent), president and publisher, Brattle Publishing
- Kristina Radke, v-p of business growth and engagement, NetGalley
- Rudy Shur, publisher, Square One Publishers
Members of the IBPA Board Nominating Committee included the following previous members of the IBPA Board of Directors: Tom Doherty (Cardinal Publishers Group), Rana DiOrio (Creative Mint Inc), Peter Goodman (Stone Bridge Press), Jim Milliot (Publishers Weekly), Robert Price (Gatekeeper Press), and Marcella Smith (Marcella Smith Associates).
Leaving the IBPA Board of Directors on June 30, 2019 will be Ian Lamont (i30 Media), Karla Olson (Patagonia Books), Joshua Tallent (Firebrand Technologies), Elizabeth Turnbull (Light Messages Publishing), and Mark Wesley (me+mi publishing). All Directors listed above are completing their second two-year term on the IBPA Board.
