Humanoids Inks Three-Picture Film Deal at Cannes
L.A.-based graphic novel house Humanoids reached a three-picture deal with film production company Full House to finance and produce English language live action film adaptations of three of its graphic novels. The agreement was reached during the Cannes Film Festival.
The films will be aimed at an international market and will be produced by Humanoids’ CEO Fabrice Giger, with his partner Pierre Spengler, in addition to Gael Nouaille, Laurent Baudens and Didar Domehri working for Full House.
The three films to be produced will be Legion, based on the graphic novel I am legion by comics artist John Cassaday and French writer Fabien Nura, with a script by Richard Stanley. The film will be directed by Nacho Cerda. The second film is Bouncer, an action western based on the graphic novel series created by Alejandro Jodorowsky and artists François Boucq. The film will be directed by Floria Sigismondi. The third film is The Zombies That Ate the World, and is slated to be written and directed by RKSS, an award-winning Canadian fiom collective that includes Anouk Whissell, YoannKarl Whissell and François Simard. The film version is based on the original comic series created by Jerry Frissen, Guy Davis, and Jorge Miquel.
