DC to Release New DC Super Hero Girls Graphic Novel
DC Comics announced plans to add more titles to its popular DC Super Hero Girls graphic novels series, starting with DC Super Hero Girls: At Metropolis High by animation and comics writer Amy Wolfram and veteran artist Yancey Labat, a new title that will be released in October 2019.
Originally launched in 2016, the DC Super Hero Girls graphic novel series is published under the newly launched DC Zoom middle grade imprint. The newest series of graphic novels will be published in conjunction with the DC Super Hero Girls animated TV series and the stories will be set in that universe.
The new graphic novel, At Metropolis High, will feature Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Bumblebee and Zatanna in stories about high school. The teenage heroes have to balance fight crime with school, including getting suspended from arrive late to class because of their adventures.
Wolfram has worked on other DC animated shows, such as Teen Titans Go. She said: “I’m very excited to be working on DC Super Hero Girls. Not only do we get to see these iconic superheroes in action as they protect Metropolis, we also get to peek behind the masks and capes to see their secret identities as they deal with an even greater challenge–being a teenager in high school!”
