Melville House, NYPL Launch Climate Change Reading Group
Melville House has launched the Climate Change Reading Group, a series of monthly environmental discussions with the New York Public Library. The reading group sessions are open to the public and will take place at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building throughout the spring and summer, launching with an April 23 session on environmental activism past, present, and future.
Each month, participants will discuss critical issues from The Climate Report from the U. S. Global Change Research Program, which Melville House published last year, with a focus on the local impact for New York City and surrounding environs. A roster of environmental activists, climate specialists, and policymakers will join the sessions to offer expert commentary and answer questions. Todd “Tif” Fernandez of 350NYC will be the guest speaker at the group’s inaugural event in April.
Melville House is also inviting libraries, booksellers, and educational organizations to join the Climate Project and host events in their community. To learn more, visit the NYPL’s resource guide.
