Jean Vanier, Author and Humanitarian, Dies at 90

Jean Vanier, who founded an international network of communities for those with and without intellectual disabilities to live and work known as L’Arche, died on May 7, according to an announcement on the organization's website. He was 90. 

In addition to his humanitarian work, Vanier was the author and co-author of several books, including Living Gently in a Violent World: The Prophetic Witness of Weakness (IVP, 2008), Life's Great Questions (Franciscan Media, 2015), and more; and he was the winner of 2015's Templeton Prize.
