Velocity Press to Release Inaugural Title In December

Velocity Press, a new publisher based in the U.K. focusing on books on electronic music, has announced its inaugural title. Join The Future: Bleep Techno & the Birth of British Bass Music by dance music journalist Matt Anniss will be published on December 2 with a 2,000 copy first printing, and is the first of a string of titles in the works from the specialist nonfiction publisher founded by Colin Steven, the former editor and publisher of drum and bass magazine Knowledge. Velocity Press will be distributed by Turnaround to bookstores in the U.K., SRD to record stores, and SCB Distribution in the U.S. Future lists will include around three titles per year, Steven said.
