At Shreve Williams, Dewey Steps Down, DeJesu and Shapiro Step In
Nicole Dewey has stepped down from her position as managing director Shreve Williams Public Relations, and has launched her own publicity firm, Dewey Decimal Media. Betsy DeJesu and Deb Shapiro have joined Shreve Williams Public Relations as affiliated publicists. DeJesu will continue her focus on nonfiction book campaigns, while Shapiro will work on the development of campaigns for children’s and parenting titles. They join publicist Chris Artis and media trainer Anne Dickerson, who remain similarly affiliated with the firm.
DeJesu has spent time in the publicity and marketing departments at the Penguin Publishing Group, Oxford University Press, and Hachette Book Group. Most recently she was the publicity and marketing director at Basic Books before opening her own firm, Betsy DeJesu Communications. Shapiro, of Deb Shapiro and Company, is a former journalist and bookseller who worked for more than twelve years creating and executing publicity and marketing campaigns for such book publishers as Houghton Mifflin, Henry Holt & Company, Simon & Schuster and Bloomsbury Publishing.
