SinC Announces 2019 Crime Fiction Award

Sisters in Crime (SinC), an organization dedicated to the advancement of female crime writers, has announced Jessica Martinez as the winner of its 2019 Eleanor Taylor Bland Crime Fiction Writers of Color award, which features a $2,000 grant.

The award, which is named after African-American author Eleanor Taylor Bland, recognizes emerging writers of color in the crime fiction genre who have not yet published a full-length work. Valued at $2,000, the award is intended to support the development of the author's debut novel, including research, workshops, and more. Past recipients include Maria Kelson (2014), Vera H-C Chan (2015), Stephane Dunn (2016), Jessica Ellis Laine (2017), and Mia P. Manansala (2018).
