'Paris Review' Partners with Stitcher on Podcast
The Paris Review will launch the second season of its podcast, which brings its 66-year archive to audio, on October 23, in partnership with podcast listening service Stitcher. Each of the five new episodes blends performances by actors and authors of Paris Review fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and interviews with original scoring, literary ephemera, and sound design intended to "create an immersive experience akin to reading the magazine itself." The Paris Review Podcast Season 2 features interviews with Carson McCullers, Toni Morrison, and Tennessee Williams in rare vintage recordings and reenactments. Authors including Alexandra Kleeman, Sarah Manguso, Sharon Olds, and Danez Smith read their new work, and the second season also includes Jason Alexander reading Philip Roth; Devendra Banhart reading Paulé Bártón; Charlotte Rampling reenacting the classic Paris Review interview with Simone de Beauvoir; Molly Ringwald reading rising fiction star Mary Terrier; Jenny Slate channeling Anne Sexton; and more.
