Merger of California Regionals Nears Completion
The merger of the Southern California Independent Bookseller Alliance (SCIBA) and the Northern California Independent Bookseller Alliance (NCIBA) is nearing completion. The organizations released a press release that said the legalities of the merger should be finalized by the end of the year. All business for SCIBA has shifted to the NCIBA website, which is now branded for the California Independent Bookseller Alliance.
Former SCIBA executive director Andrea Vuleta was thanked for her six years of service. An official statement said: "Andrea worked hard to sustain the organization, and she helped implement positive changes such as the unified California catalog and California Bookstore Day. Both programs that have allowed us to test the strength of our joint partnerships and ultimately put us on a strong footing for a unified organization." All business queries should be directed through the new website.
