Bertelsmann First Quarter Sales Fell

During the first quarter of 2020, Penguin Random House saw a rise in demand for children's and young adult books and an increase in March in physical online sales, parent company Bertelsmann reported.

Revenue for all of Bertelsmann fell 2.7%, to €4.1 billion, in the first three months of the year. The company said that given the uncertainty about ongoing business conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is unable to provide an economic forecast for the rest of the year.
