Virtual MacDowell Fellowships Launch
Since 1907, the MacDowell residencies have offered artists the chance to retreat to the woods of New Hampshire, producing works that have been instrumental in advancing their creative output. With the new coronavirus, this year's eight fellows will gather online instead for Virtual MacDowell.
The program will provide $1,000 stipends to eight artists, who will come together digitally for collaborative programs. The first group of Virtual MacDowell Fellows include architect Jeffrey Halstead, composer Steven Kazuo Takasugi, Filmmaker William E. Jones, interdisciplinary artist Leslie Cuyjet, playwright C. A. Johnson, visual artist Phoebe Adams, poet Brenda Shaughnessy, and writer Jacob Guajardo.
