C4F Hosts Binc Fundraiser
The Center for Fiction, the Brooklyn-based literary nonprofit organization, is hosting a virtual fundraiser to benefit the Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation, which has been hit hard this year with requests for financial assistance from booksellers in need, on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. EST. Binc has provided almost $3 million since March to booksellers, indie bookstores, and comics shops affected by the novel coronavirus. The Center for Fiction’s Binc All-Star Fundraiser Reading benefiting Binc’s Covid-19 Relief Fund will feature four of the most-critically acclaimed authors writing today: the poet Jericho Brown, memoirist/essayist Carmen Maria Machado, novelist Celeste Ng, and novelist Karen Russell. Suggested donation is $15 and registration is available on the Center's website. Tomorrow evening’s event also marks the season finale of The Antibody, a quarantine reading series hosted by Brian Gresko, a Brooklyn-based writer.
