Radix Media Launches Kickstarter to Fund Three Graphic Books
Radix Media, a unionized worker-owned publishing and printing collective, is publishing three graphic narratives in 2021-2022 focused on urban isolation, capitalism’s failures, and restorative social justice.
The Brooklyn-based house has launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the publication of the books that has raised about $16,000 of a goal of $25,000 with 11 days until its deadline. All Radix Media titles are edited, designed, produced, and printed in-house.
The three forthcoming graphic books are The Solar Grid by Ganzeer, a ten-issue serialized dystopian graphic novel examining the legacy of unchecked capitalism and the threat of the irreversible effects of climate change; Mortals by John Dermot Woods and Matt L., an examination of mortality and craft; and Fanning the Flames by Molly Crabapple, a coloring book for adults featuring the line drawings of the acclaimed artist and political activist.
Meher Manda, a member of the Radix Media collective, said, “Each of these books subvert expectations and, in stark illustrations, speak to and inform our present.”
